Time:6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Temple Bar London
Paternoster Lodge 2 Paternoster Square, London, EC4 7DX
Join Roy McGowan, Director, Momentum and Bruce McVean, Assistant Director - Policy & Projects, City of London Corporation for a discussion about the past, present and future of the City's streets and public realm. This year marks both the 50th anniversary of Roy starting his career - as an apprentice at the GLC - and 35 years since CAF was founded. So it seems an ideal time to reflect on the past projects, initiatives and trends that have shaped the streets of the Square Mile and central London.
This presentation will also provide an update on the City Corporation's plans to transform the City's public realm and put the needs of people walking and wheeling at the heart of transport planning. This includes projects such as Greyfriars Square that are based on unpicking the motor vehicle orientated projects of the past. There will also be the chance to consider and discuss future opportunities and challenges; a timely debate given the imminent arrival of autonomous self-driving vehicles on London's streets.
