Temple Bar London
Paternoster Lodge 2 Paternoster Square, London, EC4 7DX
Join City Architecture Forum on December 2nd at Temple Bar for the conclusion of the Gracechurch Series when we will hear from KPF , Stanhope, DP9 and Robert Bird Group about the design of 70 Gracechurch Street. The 550,000 sft building will complement the neighbouring projects at 85 and 60 Gracechurch Street.
A scheme for a tall building on the site was originally consented during COVID in 2021 for Hong Kong investor Tenacity, and the site was subsequently acquired by Cadillac Fairview, the real estate arm of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Led by DM Stanhope, the design team then evolved an amended design for the 33 storey tower, and rather than complete demolition, opted for the comprehensive retention of the existing 10 storey structure, with the new design consented by the City in February 2025.
The evening will be hosted by JJ Sarralde of The Townscape Consultancy, with a presentation of the scheme by John Bushell of KPF, followed by a panel session including Nick Jarman of Stanhope, Richard Ward of DP9, and Russell Whitehead of Robert Bird Group.
