Time:6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Temple Bar London
Paternoster Lodge 2 Paternoster Square, London, EC4 7DX
Join the City Architecture Forum for the first exclusive event of the Gracechurch Series to learn about 85 Gracechurch Street, a recently consented 32-storey tower that will provide 34,000 sqm of best-in-class office space on the western edge of the City Cluster.
Led by the Shaw Corporation on behalf of Hertshten Properties (UK) and designed by Woods Bagot, the scheme will offer an immersive, free public exhibition of the remains of the first Roman Basilica in the basement, as well as a public hall at ground floor, and an elevated walkway looking over the roofs of Leadenhall Market. As a tall building consented within a conservation area, this is a true example of how high-quality modern architecture can live side-by-side with outstanding historic buildings and places, enhancing the exciting juxtaposition of old and new that is so unique to the City.
The evening will include a presentation of the project, followed by a panel discussion sharing perspectives from the clients, the architects, the archaeologists, and the planners involved in the project.
The evening will be hosted by JJ Sarralde, CEO of The Townscape Consultancy and a committee member of the City Architecture Forum, and the panellists will include:
Ron Hertshten, CEO, Hertshten Properties (UK) Ltd
James Taylor, Principal, Woods Bagot
Sophie Jackson, Director, MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology)
Tom Nancollas, Assistant Director (Design), City of London Corporation
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about one of the most exciting new consents in the City!
