Jack Pringle

Summary

Jack has been an architect who has built and run major international practices from the UK; Pringle Brandon, Perkins and Will UK and now Studio Pringle. He has been president of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA 2005-7) and now chairs the RIBA Trustee Board (2000-6). He is a co-founder of the humanitarian charity Article 25, has been a chair of the Construction Industry Council (CIC), has sat on the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) and chaired the Editorial Board of the Journal of Architecture.

Built a substantial group of practices inc. Pringle Brandon Drew, working in

commercial, hospitality and residential fields.

Major interior architecture projects for Barclays Bank, Deutsche Bank, London Underground, HMCE, Allen and Overy, Rothschilds etc. Large new build projects for Intercontinental Hotels in Austria and housing in Hackney.

2012 –20              Perkins and Will, EMEA: Regional Director London, Paris, Copenhagen, Dubai.

Pringle Brandon and its associated companies joined Perkins and Will in 2012. PW is the second biggest architect in the world. Jack sat on the executive committee in the US. He initially was MD of the London office and then regional director across all PW offices in EMEA; UK, France, Denmark and Dubai.

During this time PW acquired Portland (retail specialists), Schmidt Hammer Lassen (Denmark) and Penoyre and Prasad architects

Established Studio Pringle with two eldest daughters who are both architects Projects for FCA in Edinburgh and Leeds, ACS school in Surry, others in hospitality and healthcare

Jack has already chaired the Trustee Board longer than anyone since the 19th century and will by the end of his term as chair will have served for almost eight years.

Article 25

2005 –                   Article 25 (originally called Architects for Aid) – founder Trustee and chair

Jack co- founded the humanitarian NGO Architect for Aid, which became

Article 25, in his office in October 2005. Jack chaired the charity from 2005 to 2014

and remains a Trustee and chairs the fundraising committee

During this time Article 25, now in offices in the Canary Wharf tower, has worked in 35 iin in countries carrying out over 100 projects. Currently (Jul 23) it is working on 13 projects in 8 countries

Article 25 is now the most productive and successful charity of its type in the UK and Is of world-class ranking

Jack is an active Trustee and donor

Family                  Jack has three daughters, two of which are architects

Recreation          Jack has a pilot’s licence (not current)

He races offshore sailing boats and has represented England by captaining a three Boat team in the Commodore’s Cup, has competed in hundreds of races including Four Fastnets, a Caribbean 600 and a Middle Sea race – three of the “bid four” long distance pro-am offshore races
